The Rossair Family Practice in Bovally Medical Centre provides the highest quality healthcare to patients in the Limavady area. Our doctors, nurses and all our staff are dedicated to offering a professional service and our surgery website will help us to keep all our patients up to date with news and information about our practice.

Opening Times

The medical centre is open between 8.30 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Friday.

Bovally Medical Centre

In 1973, when the first health centre opened in Limavady, two local general practitioners, Dr W McAllister and Dr J Laverty, founded the practice. Dr McAllister had initially worked from Bellarena area and Dr Laverty from Ballykelly.

In 1978, Dr McCleery joined the partnership. Dr McAllister and Dr Laverty both retired in 1986 and Dr Devlin joined the practice. Dr Pratt became a partner in 1993.

In the late 1980’s the doctors became dissatisfied with the facilities available in the Health Board owned health centre and together with another local practice planned a brand new purpose-built medical centre. Bovally Medical Centre was opened in 1990 and provides one of the most up to date primary medical care facilities in Northern Ireland. The premises are very comfortable and modern with excellent treatment room facilities. There is full access for the disabled. A children’s play area and indoor pram parking area are also provided.

The practice is fully computerised and committed to introducing further innovations to improve standards of patient care. Since April 1994, the practice has run special clinics for diabetics and asthmatics and in 2004 introduced further specialised clinics for patients with other chronic diseases.

Dr McCleery retired on 3 May 2010.  Dr Devlin and Dr Pratt, continue under their new practice name - ROSSAIR FAMILYPRACTICE.  

Dr R Keys joined the practice on 1 October 2011.
